Study With Sadhvi Ishani

Join senior Vedic Educator, Ishani Lauren, on a Self-reflective journey through Acharya Shunya’s teachings on Adi Shankaracharya’s Nirvana Shatakam.

Nirvana Shatakam delves into the fundamental and enigmatic query of "Who am I?" It scrutinizes the soul, mind, virtues, vices, relationships, companionship, bodily organs, desires, needs, and all worldly attachments, concluding that these are mere appendages, and only the Atma (Soul) holds true significance, while the rest is inconsequential. This profound mantra unites the Atma with the Divine (Brahman) by dissolving worldly attachments, both internal and external. This union leads to self-realization, enlightening us that our Atma is interconnected with the entire universe.

In each session, we will review and examine facets of this sacred text as it was taught by Acharya Shunya, and see what insights emerge from within us through guided contemplations, recitation, and discussion. A Letter of Welcome from Ishani

DSC07346_edited.jpg

My name is Ishani Lauren and it as a joy to meet you.

I have been blessed to sink deep into the wisdom of one tradition, one lineage, with one teacher. This deeply focused and held journey has honed me as a teacher. It has allowed me to foster scholarly rigor alongside childlike curiosity, to honor my empathetic heart while remaining disciplined in Vedic practices, and to offer dedicated service from an overflowing heart of gratitude.

For the past 15 years, under the guidance and mentorship of Acharya Shunya, I have uncovered hidden facets of human psychology, from original Vedic source texts such as the Bhagavad Gita, the Charaka Samhita, Nirvana Shatakam, Bhaja Govindam, and the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali. I have learned about the spirit’s journey referenced in classical non-dual texts such as the Tattva Bodha, Sadhana Panchakam, and Viveka Chudamani. My study has included Yoga for Atmabodha training and meditation from Acharya Shunya’s lineage, Gayatri Mantra-based meditation and spiritual practices, and daily sadhana of meditation and a commitment to lead a contemplative, dharma-based way of life.

My impulse to teach and support individuals on their journey to embodied Self-realization comes from deep gratitude to my teacher and wisdom lineage. To immerse in this river of wisdom is to become a part of it, and that also means becoming a conduit of selfless service to others.

Deep within you, a powerful presence and light is awaiting an invitation to reveal itself. Wherever you are on your life journey, I feel deeply satisfied in supporting you with full presence and the wisdom teachings I've gathered through the blessings of my teacher.

Honoring Your Light,

Ishani
