A Unique Path to Timeless Wisdom
In a world full of eclectic spiritual practices and personality-driven teachings, the Vedic Study Circle offers a rare and authentic journey into the heart of Shastra study.
The Shastras—ancient sacred texts like the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, and writings of great masters such as Adi Shankaracharya—serve as ultimate guides to understanding the Self (Atma) and its oneness with Universal Consciousness (Brahman).
These teachings are not bound by trends or individual interpretations; they are eternal wisdom that has guided seekers for millennia.
Deep, Immersive Study
Unlike modern teachings that seek quick insights, the Vedic Study Circle encourages a deep, immersive study of sacred texts.
We dedicate ourselves to truly understanding these teachings, often spending months or even years with a single text.
This depth of study is transformative, allowing us to explore the interconnectedness of yogic paths—Bhakti, Karma, Upasana, and Jnana—each one leading us back to the Self and the Divine.
A Global Community of Like Minded Seekers
The Vedic Study Circle is more than just a study group. It’s a breathing, evolving, reflective community. This journey is not walked alone. In the Vedic Study Circle, you become part of a sangha—a community of like-minded seekers who learn, support, inspire, and grow together. Our members engage in discussions, share insights, and learn together in a supportive environment.
This community serves as a sacred space where the teachings are not just learned but embodied and shared, creating a ripple effect that transforms lives. Here, you are not just a student; you are part of a living tradition, spiritual family that contains members from every corner of the world, that honors the wisdom of the past while making it relevant for the present.
Personal Growth Through Connection
In addition to structured study, the Vedic Study Circle offers personal growth through interactive and informal sessions with Acharya Shunya. These include Kula meets, where we gather as a family to meet new members, share experiences, and support each other’s spiritual journeys. These intimate gatherings foster deep connections and provide a nurturing environment for growth.

We also have Samsara Surfers, where members learn to navigate life's suffering by transforming life’s challenges into practical wisdom and tools for everyday life. Through these sessions, we explore how to bring wisdom from the Vedas into our daily struggles and joys.

Another unique offering is Atma Dance, where we let go and allow ourselves to swirl in the divine presence of the Self (Atman), connecting with the infinite and experiencing freedom in movement. These experiences deepen our spiritual practice, creating a space where true transformation takes place.
Welcoming to All
The Vedic Study Circle, guided by Acharya Shunya, is a sanctuary where wisdom transcends all boundaries of religion, culture, and gender. In the true spirit of the Vedic tradition, we recognize the Divine Self within all living beings—regardless of their background or identity. Our teachings are open to everyone, and we honor the diversity of experiences and paths that each seeker brings.

Advaita Vedanta The Path to Oneness: Ongoing Study
At the core of the Vedic Study Circle is Advaita Vedanta, which teaches the nondual nature of reality—the oneness of the individual soul (Atman) with the Supreme (Brahman).
This immense wisdom is explored through sacred texts such as the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and writings from great masters like Adi Shankaracharya.

As part of Advaita Vedanta, we also immerse in Jnana Yoga, the path of self-inquiry, which invites seekers to question the nature of the self and its relationship with the universe.
One of the essential texts in this journey is the Nirvana Shatakam, a collection of six verses that guide us to self-realization and liberation.

For those seeking deeper study, the Vedic Study Circle offers an extensive library of non-dual teachings accumulated over 14 years, covering a wide range of topics in Advaita Vedanta, self-inquiry, meditation, and more. These teachings old and new, are available to all members, creating a rich, evolving resource to support their ongoing spiritual journey.
Bhakti Yoga The Path of Devotion: Ongoing Study
In 2024, our members undertook a year-long study of Bhakti Yoga, immersing in the Bhagavad Gita and Narada Bhakti Sutras to deepen our connection with the Divine.
Through Bhaja Govindam, we cultivated love, surrender, and selfless service, using mantras and chanting to bring our hearts closer to God.
Bhakti Yoga in the Vedic Study Circle is a transformative journey. Each year, study circles and focus groups are formed to explore the teachings deeply, including practices, stories, meditations, and chanting. These groups guide members from duality to the nondual recognition of God as the Self.
New members gain access to a rich repository of Bhakti Yoga teachings—videos, lectures, meditations, and practices recorded by Acharya Shunya.
This resource supports your journey, offering both profound teachings and practical tools for integrating Bhakti Yoga into your life.
"Like the rhythm of the drum, the heartbeat of the seeker unites with the divine, creating a harmonious dance of spirit and truth."

Acharya Shunya teaches in a deeply authentic yet modern and relatable way. I gain depth and clarity from her ability to weave together different strands of Vedic knowledge and intersperse them with contemporary examples. So many times, when I hear her teachings, I am stunned by her timing, as I have the sense that they are just what I needed to hear in those moments of my life. Vedic wisdom provides me with a more holistic, expansive, inclusive, and timeless perspective into which I can anchor so as to flow on the river of this life’s journey with greater ease, steadiness, joy, and peace. The longer I sit at her feet, hearing, contemplating upon, and striving to integrate this wisdom, I find that I am able to remember it more readily and easily. I always feel uplifted, nourished, and inspired after participating in a study circle with Shunyaji and fellow seekers.

Computer Engineer, Portland, Oregan
As a computer engineer, I’m trained to analyze data and find patterns. Initially, when my wife introduced me to Acharya Shunya’s teachings in 2010, I was skeptical. However, it quickly became clear that her wisdom was something beyond what I had ever encountered. Her teachings on the Vedas and yogic wisdom helped me understand the interconnectedness of life in ways that complement my logical mindset. While I had approached spirituality with hesitation, I soon realized that Acharya Shunya is not just my wife's teacher but also mine. The clarity, depth, and practicality of her teachings have transformed my personal and professional life. Acharya Shunya’s ability to bridge ancient wisdom with modern challenges has not only given me peace of mind but also a greater sense of purpose. The only downside is the challenge of integrating these profound teachings with a busy, modern lifestyle, but the rewards make the effort more than worthwhile.

I don’t have the language to describe the nature of my experience in studying with Acharya Shunya... or what it truly means to me. Through her wisdom teachings and her lineage, I was able to experience the radiance I had witnessed in her other students. Acharya Shunya's teachings are a part of my day-to-day life, and what I share with my community. I am forever grateful. What I can say is that there is something unspeakable within me that is growing, by the grace of this wisdom & practice. A remembrance is rising in my heart & in my life. I am grateful to my dear teacher & to her lineage. I know there is no looking back from here. The biggest lesson that I've taken away from my studies with Acharya Shunya, is the idea that, no matter what happens, it’s going to be ok. That I am not what happens to me. I am not what I do or don’t do. That I am separate. That I simply am. That I am not at the mercy of my mind, or my emotions, or my circumstances. It’s such a simple, yet such a powerful lesson and has made the world of difference to me.
