​The Vedic Study Circle is currently exploring Adi Shankaracharya's nondual, 31 verse composition, Bhaja Govindam.

​

Shankaracharya, a revered Indian philosopher and theologian, is renowned for his contributions to Advaita Vedanta. His teachings emphasize the oneness of the individual soul (Atman) and the ultimate reality (Brahman/Ishvara/Paramatman). Through his commentaries and compositions, he has made complex philosophical concepts accessible and practical for everyday living.

 

About Bhaja Govindam

Bhaja Govindam, also known as Moha Mudgara, is a popular devotional composition by Adi Shankaracharya. It emphasizes the importance of devotion to God as a means to attain spiritual liberation. Each verse is a call to forsake material illusions and realize the ultimate truth. In this series, we will explore the meaning and relevance of these verses in contemporary life.

Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 3

Beginning January 1, Acharya Shunya shall begin expounding upon Chapter 3 of the Bhagavad Gita, which comprises 43 verses. This chapter, known as "Karma Yoga" or "The Yoga of Action," offers profound insights into the principles of selfless action and duty, providing practical guidance for leading a spiritually enriched life.

Why Chapter 3?
Explore the concept of Karma Yoga, which teaches us to engage in selfless action as a path to spiritual liberation. By dedicating our actions to a higher purpose, we learn to transcend personal desires and ego, fostering a sense of inner peace and fulfillment.
